Concert was dedicated to the great Armenian master of duduk Jivan Gasparyan’s creative and prosperous 65 years of activity on stage.
Throughout a career spanning 65 years, Gasparyan has won many awards, played with dozens of musicians from across the globe, featured in the soundtracks of many famous movies.
Most of maestro’s repertoire features traditional Armenian folk music.
Two main musicians Armen Ghazaryan - second duduk, Vazgen Makaryan - bass duduk, were next to him through his long career and the young musician Mher Mnatsakanyan (bass duduk) accompanied Maestro during this concert.
Several respective musicians joined Maestro on second half of the concert to present the folk music with new interpretations. They are Robert Darunts (dhol), Zorayr Hovhannisyan (keyboards), Martin Aharonyan (guitar), Vardan Gasparyan (guitar) and Jemma Abrahamayan (violin).
Gevorg Hakobyan (baritone), Anna Mayilyan (mezzo-soprano), Armen Babaghanian (piano), Vahagn Hayrapetyan (piano) were among the guest artists.
Jivan Gasparyan Junior (duduk) played on the stage during the whole concert, performing with his grandfather, guest artists as well as solo.
The spirit of the concert was graceful sound of duduk from the breath of the great Maestro Jivan Gasparyan.
